A. Introduction
Learn to manage the internal process, the human process that has been repeatedly identified as the missing link in failed change efforts in business. Learn the critical elements for driving successful change and develop coaching skills to create a change-ready culture throughout your organization. Discover how to decrease the negative effects of change on individuals and groups. Keywords: difficult change initiatives, change-ready culture.
Fostering the capacity to implement genuine change is increasingly important as competition becomes global. Research across sectors suggests that the failure rate of change initiatives- reengineering projects, mergers and acquisitions, implementation of strategic plans and of IT systems-is a shocking 70%. Interestingly, the most commonly cited reason determining the success or failure of change initiatives is people. Why you might ask? Because when people are not adequately engaged with change, they resist it tooth and nail. On the other hand, when people identify and let go of what must be left behind and, then, build meaning and reach out for what is new, they become capable of initiating and generating sustainable change.

What: Proud to Play Like a Girl – Mini Basketball Camp
Time: 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
Location: Ridgeway Baptist Church/2500 Ridgeway Rd. /Memphis
Manila .
Leader: Normie P. Ferrer
There is very little fundamental basketball training for girls in the primary grades. This is the age when kids are most impressionable and open for development. By providing basketball camps and clinics, our goal is to increase the awareness of girl’s basketball through‐out Memphis and surrounding areas with the hopes of boosting self-esteem and contributing to a healthy lifestyle. The Helen Darling Camps are designed to increase the involvement and consistency of young girls in the game of basketball.
Darling too, grew up with limited opportunity for all girls’ camps, tournaments, and league. However, in 1996, Darling landed a basketball scholarship to Penn State University where she was the first player in school history to earn the Big Ten Player of the Year award. As a college player, she also won the Naismith Award; the Kodak All‐ American; and was a member of the All‐Big Ten teams, receiving recognition as Big Ten Tournament MVP in 2000.
Darling is now a 10-year veteran for the WNBA having played for the Cleveland Rockers for four years, Minnesota Lynx for 1 year, Charlotte Sting for 2 years, and landing in San Antonio with the Silver Stars for 4 years. She currently plays point guard, a position that allows her to utilize her leadership skills.
It has been such a pleasure to walk into a gym and see little girls of all talents competing in the wonderful game of basketball. It is our desire to create more basketball opportunities for young girls.
